1. Walls
Vertical surfaces accumulate dust just as much as horizontal surfaces. Walls may visually appear clean but be covered in a decent layer of dirt.
Regular or cork wallpaper, decorative plaster, panels and other coatings that are not friendly to moisture can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner with a regular floor brush. For deep joints between stone or brick tiles and other hard-to-reach places, use a crevice nozzle. Instead of using a vacuum cleaner, you can use a mop with a dry microfiber cloth on it: this material collects dirt well, keeping it from flying around. Try to move from top to bottom and pay attention to corners – cobwebs can accumulate there. Remove it with a broom, vacuum cleaner or brush.
Periodically wipe down washable wallpaper and other surfaces that are not afraid of water with a slightly damp cloth. To get to the most inaccessible areas will help an ordinary mop. And tiles on the walls can be cleaned with household chemicals. So, you can dilute a few drops of liquid soap in warm water to form a foam and, moistening the resulting solution with a rag or sponge, go over the coating. Or use special products for cleaning walls and floors, referring to the instructions on the package. After the procedure, wipe the surfaces with a clean, damp cloth to remove chemical residues.
2. Space under furniture and appliances
Even if you can easily reach these places with your hand or a mop, sometimes it’s just lazy to clean them. But still, once a week, try to find the strength to put things in order. Along with dust, food scraps, pet hair and cobwebs under furniture and other massive objects are often things that seem to be lost forever. So first, look in there with a flashlight and pull out anything of value. After that, vacuum and mop the floor, not forgetting the baseboards.
Cleaning under heavy objects like a sofa or washing machine can be a problem. But do it at least during a general cleaning, say, once every six months. Move furniture and appliances away, vacuum up large debris, and then mop the floor with a damp cloth.
