This Florida couple not only took a photo on a special occasion, but they were fortunate enough to have a surprise guest appear in it that has gone around the world.
While taking a walk on the beach at sunset, Dan Mozer decided to take a picture of his pregnant wife.
The photo spread around the world. Wildlife photographers could spend half their lives trying to take a picture like this!
Dan from Jacksonville, Florida, wanted to portray his beautiful pregnant wife on the beach near his home.
At that time his wife Angeline was expecting their first child, a baby boy, and was nearing her due date. Dan wanted to make sure he had as many photos of her as possible before she gave birth.
The couple decided to take a romantic walk on Atlantic Beach when Dan suggested taking a sunset photo.
Angeline agreed and thought about standing in profile so that her baby bump could be seen clearly.
Behind her were the waves crashing on the shoreline. Everything was perfect.
Unexpected guest
An unexpected guest appeared in the background. The couple could not believe their eyes.
Behind Angeline, a dolphin made its appearance out of the water and was immortalized in the photo.
Dan knew that dolphins are found in that area, so seeing one wouldn’t even have been a surprise, but seeing it jump out of the water right at the moment of the shot, that was a surprise!
“When I looked at it again I was stunned! She unfortunately missed the scene,” Dan told AWM.
Change the name
Angeline gave birth not long after the photo went viral. They named their baby Courtland.
Dan said that as he sees it, Courtland was “conjuring up dolphins” that day. He added, “No, we are not changing our son’s name to Dolphin (dolphin) as you suggested,” he told Yahoo News.
“The dolphin made two jumps, but the first shot came out better and I like it better,” Dan said. “You forget very easily how magical it can be to see a dolphin jumping out of the water.”
Dan really managed to take a wonderful photo. We are sure that when Courtland grows up he will love this photo as much as we do.
