The son of former US President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr, said Monday before the New York Supreme Court that his father is an “artist” with real estate in the framework of the tax fraud trial led by New York Attorney General Letitia James against the Trump Organization.
“He understands and has incredible insight that other people don’t have,” his son has asserted before Judge Arthur Engoron.
Donald Jr. has pointed out that the “sexiness” his father sees in real estate projects attracted licensing deals with other developers who wanted to emulate his style. He has also claimed that he himself “has some of those genes.”
The trial, which has dragged on for about seven weeks so far, features testimony from approximately 25 witnesses, 24 of whom will appear in court. The trial is expected to conclude in mid-December.
Donald Jr. was the first witness called by the defense, and had already been called as a witness by the prosecution, along with his father and brother Eric Trump.
The daughter of the former U.S. president, Ivanka Trump, decided to disassociate herself from her father’s financial activities during her testimony last Wednesday, but not her sons Eric and Donald Trump Jr., who have fervently supported the tycoon throughout several of his depositions.
